CHRISTIAN AMONSON
SCORE PRODUCER/MIXER

Christian Amonson specializes in recording, mixing, and producing choral and acoustic music.

His professional work includes recordings with LA Opera, LA Master Chorale, Pacific Chorale, Washington Choral Arts Society, Washington Master Chorale, Virginia Chorale, Concordia College, the Chicago Symphony with John Williams, the Kansas City Symphony and Joyce DiDonato, Lisette Oropesa, Devone Tines, and more. He has led over 3000 projects in 1000+ concert halls, churches, studios, and scoring stages.

Christian’s ability to see sound (not synesthesia, more like echolocation) makes him especially sensitive to blend and balance. One singer move 6” closer to the main mics? Christian will hear it.

The Virginia Chorale was the first to notice, hiring Christian after they spent a season auditioning engineers, including those from Sony, NPR, WHRO, and the Virginia Symphony. He was 20.

Since then, he’s worked with choirs coast-to-coast as a recording producer, audio engineer, and video director. (Often all all once.)

Christian is based in Los Angeles, is a faculty member in the USC Screen Scoring program, and leads the Arts Laureate recording collective with offices in DC, Philadelphia, NYC, and Kansas City.
